HORRIBLE

Posted by HealthyEater on 8/8/2009

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone....it was horrible and the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I went there with my husband, sat down, got a couple drinks, ordered our first round from the buffet....and waited...and waited....and waited. My husband finally got his 2 very small dishes after 30 minutes. He finished his food and I still hadn't gotten any of the sushi I ordered. We told the waitress several times that I never got my food and she said she would check on it. Finally after over an hour of waiting we got up to leave. I was starving and wasn't getting good service or FOOD. We told the manager that we would pay for what we ate and just wanted to leave. We told her everything that went on and she said nothing except that we still owed for the 2 drinks. We were in awe that after the hour and a half wait and horrible service that she would still charge us for 2 drinks and not even apologize or try to make it better. NEVER again will I go there or recommend it to anyone.

Best Hibachi in Buffalo!

Last night my wife, daughter and I went to Ichiban to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We have been enjoying hibachi places since the 1970s (when we went to a Benihanas) and this was one of our best experiences! The service was good, the chef (Jet) was great and the food was fabulous! I was also impressed with the prices ... for instance, fried rice/noodles were included with the hibachi meal, whereas we have had to pay extra at other spots. My daughter got Steak & Chicken, my wife got Chicken & Scallops ($20 each) and I "splurged" with Filet Mignon & Scallops ($23!). I think my Filet was done better than any place I have ever had it ... it was juicy and tender and done 'just right!'. Of course, after we all ate, we had to have 3 boxes to take home what we couldn't finish. Did I mention it's a bargain? We tried an appetizer (Chicken Tatsuga age) which was a first for us. It was very good. We also had a dessert that was new to us (Mochi); it was fantastic! Three different types of ice cream (we chose green tea, vanilla and mango ... yum!). I can't stress enough how great the atmosphere and attitude of the employees were. We will most definitely be back .... often!!! PB Stetser PS: Disclaimer: I am not connected in any way with the ownership or management of this spot ... I just reaaalllllly liked it and want others to know about it! Feel free to email me if you have further questions. (StetserFamily dot com)

the best hibachi and sushi

this is my first time in Ichiban steakhouse, the food was really great and the chef was really funny, eventhought i had been to the one on maple street but i still like ichiban better, cuz the service was better and the chef was better than Kyoto. and when i tried to ask question in kyoto, they didn't understand what i was saying and i didn't understand them either. on the other hand, the servers in ichiban, they talked to us in fluent english and they answered our question perfectly. so i highly recommend Ichiban steathouse.
