For more than 130 years, the Buffalo Museum of Science has been in the business of collecting, researching and displaying information on the fascinating world of science. Today, the museum's collection of specimens encompasses many fields of research and contains more than 670,000 artifacts. Visitors to the museum can enjoy displays on everything from the scientific world of the ancient Egyptians to insects and their anatomies. The museum is located in downtown Buffalo, near a number of art galleries and restaurants, and is only 6 miles from the Tifft Nature Preserve, the museum's urban nature sanctuary.
